Laura Elizabeth Johnston

Laura Elizabeth Johnston, 42, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL., passed away on January 12, 2023. Her father and aunt were by her side providing comfort, love and support.

Laura was born on November 29,1980, a day Alabama beat Auburn in football, to parents Michael and Linda Johnston in Atlanta, GA. She attended Pope High School in Marietta, GA. She continued her education at The University of Alabama graduating in 2003 with a degree in Marketing. Laura was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta fraternity.

Laura went on to a career in commercial insurance and was an excess underwriter and business development manager for AIG, Zurich, and FCCI.

She was beloved by her many high school and college friends and countless insurance colleagues she met during her career.

She was a dedicated daughter, loving and protective big sister, a doting aunt, and adored her two Australian labradoodles, Gracie Lee and Samantha.

Laura was proceeded in death by her mother, Linda Lee Johnston, who passed away on the same date 5 years earlier.

She is survived by her father, Michael Ralph Johnston of Santa Rosa Beach, FL., her sister Susan Johnston (Dan) of Mars, PA., her niece Linda Lily Juliano and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Laura will be remembered for her infectious laughter and kind heart and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service and celebration of Laura’s life will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at the Vue on 30A restaurant in Santa Rosa Beach FL, from 2pm until 4pm.
