Tribute

Kevin Bennett Walters, age 66 of Fort Walton Beach, FL passed away January 15, 2021 peacefully at home from complications of ALS.

He was born March 25, 1954 in Cranston, RI to William & Shirley Walters, who both preceded him in death. He proudly spent 25 ½ years serving his country in the United States Air Force, having traveled all over the world before retiring in 2001.  During all those years he was married multiple times, having several children in which he adored. It wasn’t until 2001, he found the love of his life again, Lynnel Walters, after spending three decades of living separate lives.  They were happily married in AZ from 2001 until her passing in 2019. Shortly after he moved back to FL to be closer to his children and grandchildren to enjoy the rest of his life.

Kevin had a passion for fishing, hunting, guns, racecars, and hockey games which he shared with all his children and grandchildren. He loved rock music, old movies, thrift store books, or any bargain at that, a good can of boiled peanuts and a dozen oysters. He was loved immensely by his entire family and his crazy sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his six children, Christopher Gardner and his wife Stephanie of FL, Shaun Walters of FL, Nicole Heise and her husband Max of FL, Matthew Walters and his wife Aly of TX, Jacob Walters and his wife Cyntina of FL, and Nathan Walters and his wife Elizabeth of TX; step daughter, Sha’ Holmes and her husband David of AZ; step son, Jesse Greenwald of AZ; “adopted” daughter, Heather Hoyt of FL; sisters Vicki Taylor of FL; Wendy Gosneigh and her husband Johnny of FL; a brother, Tracy Walters who preceded in him death; niece Jennifer Kemp of FL and her son Nicholas Glover; nephew, Travis Walters of TN; ex-wife and lifelong friend, Sherry Walters of FL;  countless grandchildren, Amanda, Chelsea, Cameron, Destiny, Chyenne, Connor, Lauren, Ethan, Michaela, Josephine, Hayden, Ryleigh, Alexis, Chase, and Lynnel; great grandchildren, Jaymarie, Jayden, and baby Vincent, and several other extended family members in Arizona to include but not limited to Donald, Demaris, Marti, Jon, Reece, and Sara.

Kevin lived an extraordinary life that will be celebrated with full military honors at Marler Park on Okaloosa Island, FL on February 20th, followed by interment in the Prescott National Cemetery, Prescott, AZ.
