Tribute

Joseph Emile Michael (Joe) passed from this world Easter Sunday 4/17/22 at 9:01pm.  His loss has left a huge hole in his family’s hearts.

Joe was born 6/27/55 to George & Frances Michael in Mobile, AL.  Even from a very young age he enjoyed being outside having adventures with his siblings. He carried that love of the outdoors with him throughout his life.  His favorite times were spent being by the water fishing, especially with his son Jake.  If Dad wasn’t at home or work we knew where he’d be - on the Okaloosa Pier, fishing, joking, and making friends.

Joe dedicated his life to protecting and serving others with a distinguished 33 year career with the Ft Walton Beach Police Department.  Detective, Crime Scene Investigator, Undercover, SWAT Team were just a few of the roles he had.  He impacted and helped countless lives.

Joe is survived by his children Dawn (Joshua), Miranda and Jake.  His adored grandchildren Hayden, Carter and Colt who were the absolute light of his life. Sisters Kay and Beth.  And his special little buddy Koda the pup who stayed by his side and did a wonderful job keeping his lap warm.

He is preceded in death by his wife Julie, married for 36 years.  His daughter Chase, who we very unexpectedly lost a few months ago.  Parents George & Frances.  And brothers Victor and Evangelos.

To say that we’ll miss him is an incredible understatement.  He was a big charming personality who could talk to anyone.  He loved his family with all his heart and never missed a chance to say he loved us.  We know that he’s in heaven now reeling in the biggest fish ever.

See you later Dad.  Never goodbye.  See you later.
