Joseph “Joe” Albert Heberlein was born May 1, 1947 in Erie, PA. His youth was spent moving with his family to Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois and Oklahoma. After graduating from Warner High School in 1965, he attended Connors State in Warner, Oklahoma prior to entering the U.S. Air Force. He served in Germany and various locations in the U.S. Joseph retired in 1987 at Eglin A.F.B. and began work for the Civil Service. Joe has had a diverse career working as a Crew Chief for the T-38 aircraft, safety officer at the test track at Holloman A.F.B., New Mexico.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Norma, and his two brothers, David and Stephen. He is survived by his sister, Janice Swingle of Marana, AZ; his brother, Roger Heberlein of Valrico, FL., and life-long friends, Bill and Karla Harrison of Baker, FL.
His interests included hunting, boating, restoring classic automobiles, and travel. His kind and adventurous spirit will be remembered by all who have had the opportunity to know him. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
