December 17, 1958 ~ March 5, 2021 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Tribute

(Ret) SSGT John W. Moore went to be with our Lord the evening of March 5th. The sudden passing was not by coincidence or expected. In fact, it was a coordinated event planned by the heavens that calls us home when it is our time. John’s purpose was to assist his mother 6 hours later.

John was born in Selma Alabama on December 17th, 1958 to Charles and Herta (Sonja) Moore.  Growing up as an Army Brat and experiencing life with no restrictions John learned his way into creativity. Saying John is an Artist was an understatement. John had the ability to design and create. His extraordinary ability to form sculptures and objects made anyone wonder in amazement. Johns mind was an endless supply of ideas and techniques that carried him through life till the very end. There is much to be said of this very unique and talented individual but it would take a volume of books to give him the credit he truly deserves.

John joined the United States Airforce in 1979 and served 20 dedicated and professional years for his country and fellow citizens. John served most of his duty in Logistical Command Units including the highly sophisticated group called Joint Special Operation Command (JSOC). John’s tour of duties took him to Osan AFB in Korea where he assisted in logistical support and assisted with support to The United Nations Security Command which allowed him to cross over the Military Demarcation Line into communist North Korea. John then was assigned to Pope AFB where he provided logistical support for Joint Special Operations Command and later to Eglin AFB where he provided logistical support for the 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron for 12 years. John earned the following service medals; Air Force Achievement with 3 devices, Air Force Commendation with 1 device, Air Force Longevity Award with 3 devices, Air Force Training Ribbon, Air Force Overseas Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with 4 devices, and Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 4 devices.

Upon his retirement in 1999, John took his creative artistry into full time performance where he assisted builders with completing high end interior wall finishes and elaborate art details in homes around Destin, Florida. John also took on other employment opportunities that allowed him to express his creativity and designs through landscape installations that branded his trademark look that still exist today.

On Johns 50th Birthday he was reborn again after suffering a major heart attack that left him with a traumatic brain injury and weaken heart. However, this did not stop him from carrying out life the best way he possibly could. He endured the greatest of trials and tribulations that made him re-create his life and the way he lived. John never gave up on life and worked with what he had to work with.

John’s testament to surviving is one that deserves the upmost respect for all that he has endured. We are proud of John and we will miss him on so many levels.

John is preceded in death by his parents (Ret) LTC Charles & Herta (Sonja) Moore, and niece Gwendolen Moore.
