John Raymond Johnson Sr.

John Raymond Johnson, Sr. 89 of Miramar Beach, Florida and Hot Springs Village, Arkansas went to his forever home on November 27, 2021.  He was at home in Hot Springs Village with his wife, Lorraine by his side.

John was born in Carthage, Missouri to James T. Johnson and Jeanette (née Thomas) Johnson on June 10, 1932.  He had an older brother, James (deceased) and younger sister, Vera (deceased).  He was also preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Margaret.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of the home and four of his five sons.  John Raymond Johnson, Jr. (wife Julie), Thomas Arthur Johnson, deceased (widow Krista),
David Arnold Johnson (wife Gail), Kirk Anthony Johnson (wife, Donna) and Philip Ashley Johnson.  He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.  

John spent his youth in Jackson, Tennessee and went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree from Memphis University.  He began his career with Nabisco and then Bristol Myers Squibb in pharmaceutical sales and management.  He retired to Destin, Florida in 1992.  He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Destin and associate member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.  He was an active member for several years in various positions.

He enjoyed golfing, boating, traveling and reading as well as sports; especially golf and New Orleans Saints football.  He and Lorraine traveled the world on many adventures and cruising to many ports.

The family will observe his funeral service at Faith Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village on December 6 and his burial will be in Destin Memorial Cemetery on December 9 at 11 am with graveside commitment by St. Andrews by the Sea.  Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Caruth - Hale Funeral Home, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Emerald Coast Funeral Home of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.
