John Paul Jennings

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Paul Jennings at the age of 62 years old of New Orleans Louisiana. Although he battled valiantly, he succumbed to Heart failure at Fort Walton Beach Emergency Room surrounded by his loving wife and close friends on December 1, 2018.

John is survived by his wife Maria Asuncion of 40 years, and children, daughter Marjorie and husband Brandelen Smith and son Bryan and wife Melanie Jennings, siblings Vickie Myers, Debra Wilson, Rube Lee Jennings, Wilma Lecompte, Christine Champagne, and Tommy Champagne, and many loving grandchildren Leilynn, Joven, Michael, Damien, Isyss, and Liam.  He also was loved by his nieces, nephews and extended family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone.

John truly lived a blessed life with simple pleasures by always traveling to visit loved ones, enjoys football, where his favorite team was the New Orleans Saints, fishing, shooting at the ranges, walking 5Ks, bowling, pool, and movie nights with the grandkids.  He served in the United States Airforce for 24 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Thereafter, he continued his service as a Master Mechanic Supervisor/Trainer for 30 years.  John was the fix it all type of gentleman, assisting everyone with their neighborhood projects and a guiding light to family and friends in need.  He was there for us all.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude toward Emerald Coast Funeral Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.

Visitations will be Saturday, 8 December at 1600-1800hrs at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. John’s Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, 9 December at 1100hrs at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Chapel.  He will be laid to rest at the Beal Memorial Cemetery.
