John David Conway

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM, October 23, 2020 at the funeral home.

John David Conway of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, age 83, passed away peacefully at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center on October 20, 2020.

John was born on January 28, 1937 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to parents Jeff D. Conway and Dorothy Conway. John Graduated high school in Aiken, South Carolina and further earned his bachelor’s degree in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He served his country honorably for four years in the United States Army and retired from Vitro Services, now known as B.A.E. Systems, after 42 years of employment. He was a reputable member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge. John married his loving wife, Gerda Conway, on February 14, 2004 in Helen, Georgia. John and Gerda loved to travel together and visited many places all over the United States and Europe, and frequently enjoyed cruises to the Western Caribbean.

John Conway is survived by his beautiful wife, Gerda Conway of Fort Walton Beach, as well as brothers James W. Conway and Phillip R. Conway. He is also survived by his children, daughter Laura Williams and son-in-law John Ingmire, daughter Dorothy Chatterton and son-in-law Allen Chatterton, and step children Patricia Boehlert, Robert Batson, and Barbara Hynes. He is survived by his grandchildren, Nicole and Sean Hails, Andrew and Emilie Williams, Jayme Chatterton, Scott Chatterton, Brandi Chatterton, Matthew Chatterton, Chloe Chatterton, Jillian Chatterton, Annika Chatterton, Ian Chatterton, Elizabeth and Matt Duvall, Justin Williams, Jason Hynes, Chris Boehlert, Nick Batson, and Jessica Batson. He is survived by great grandchildren Keegan, Ethan, Connor, Ella, Wren, Liam, Dallas, Violet, Henry, Colton, and Kenna.

John is preceded in death by wife Barbara Ann Conway, son Mitchell Allyn Conway, granddaughter Caitlin Faith Williams, and siblings Virginia A. Conway and Charles A. Conway.
