Jimmie Sampson Kimbrell

Jimmie S. “Salty” Kimbrell, age 84, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at West Florida Hospital.  Jimmie was born in Ft. Benning, Ga., to parents, Elmer S. and Elizabeth Kimbrell and was raised in Destin, FL.  Salty Kimbrell served 2 yrs. in the U.S. Army before beginning his career at the telephone company and worked with them for 39 yrs.  He and his wife Ann spent this time traveling and serving in their church.  Jimmie is predeceased by his wife of 50 yrs., Ann Kimbrell; his daughter, Lori; his parents; brothers, Jack and Jerry; and sister, June Wells.  He is survived by his two daughters, Vanessa McDaniel and Lisa Hutchinson, both of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Rachelle, Todd, Jackie, Mandy, Phillip, Natalie, Greg, Paige and Isaac; and numerous great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank Covenant Care in Pensacola, FL for their exceptional care of Salty and his family in their time of need.   A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home.  A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 6, 2018 AT 10:00 A.M. at Cinco Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
