Mrs. Irma Jean Elton

Long-time resident of Ft. Walton Beach, Mrs. Irma Jean Elton, 95, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2019, at her home. Mrs. Elton was born on October 14, 1923, in Holgate, Ohio to Walter Conrad Groll and Marie Ulrigh Groll . Jean was a military wife to Harold (Hal) Elton, retired Lt. Colonel, USAF, for 46 years.  She lived a long, fulfilling life as a wife, homemaker, and mother. She and Hal traveled throughout the U. S. and Europe. They were loving, devoted parents to their son, Kim Lindsay Elton.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Hal, her son Kim, her sister Helen Pickering, and her mother and father. She is survived by two nephews, Kirk D. Pickering (Mary Jo), Brian J. Pickering, her niece, Lynette S. Yurovich (Dan), and special friend, Shirley Windham Arnold.

Jean’s ashes will be placed next to her husband at Barrancas National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be October 11, 2019 from 3 until 5 PM at Two Trees Restaurant.
