Harvey LeRoy McFarland

Harvey L “Mac” McFarland, age 86, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at his home in Destin. Mac was born April 13, 1935 in Tylersburg, PA. He joined the Air Force and retired at Eglin AFB in 1974. He was a charter boat captain, gentleman farmer, motel and marina operator, bee keeper, and avid whitetail hunter who rarely met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife Shirley, of 64 years and his sons, Stephen (Cocoa Beach, FL) and Frank “Jeff” (Destin, FL). He was preceded in death by his sons, Mark and Scott.

Mac will be interred with full military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery on Monday, April 26 at 11:00 AM. Any who wish are invited to attend. The motorcade will stage at the Olive Baptist Church Warrington Campus, one mile out of the Pensacola NAS main gate at 10:30 AM. The family will receive friends after the interment at their home in Destin from 2:00 - 5:00 PM. Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed at www.emeraldcoastfuneralhome.com.
