Gary L. Lamalie, 65, crossed into heaven on July 31, 2020, after a well-fought battle with cancer. He was husband of 40 years to wife Eva, father to three sons, Daniel, Philip, and Stephen, and grandfather to grandsons, Chandler, Elmo, and Sylas.
A graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School and UWF, Gary opened his CPA practice in Mary Esther in 1987 and faithfully served the local area and beyond for 33 years. He was respected and loved by his clients and employees. Gary was also a longtime member of Living Word Evangelistic Center, acting as Finance Chairman for many of those years. The skills, dedication, ethics, and humor that Gary contributed to our world will be missed by so many, though we rejoice that he now sees face-to-face the Savior whose life-changing grace he discovered as a young man.
Gary is also survived by sister, Karen (Cliff) Clark; younger brother Mark; mother-in-law, Nilda James; brother-in-law Joseph (and Janet) James; sister-in-law, Ann James; brothers-in-law Jeffrey James and Michael James; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Burdell and Mary Lamalie; older brother Earl, and father-in-law Elmo James.
There will be no formal services held, and as a devoted dog-lover, it was Gary’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations in his memory be made to PAWS.
