Ernestine Little

Ernestine McPherson Little, was a loving, caring mother, sister and friend that was born December 17, 1929 in St Marks, Fl. To the union of the late John Quincy Adams McPherson and Elmore Hawkins McPherson. Ernestine completed high school at Shadeville High School, Shadeville, Fl. ( Wakulla County, FL.). She also is a graduate of Florida A&M University.  She has been a resident of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. since 1955 where she began her career in education at Brooks Elementary School. She was an elementary school teacher in Okaloosa County for 37 years.

                Sister Little is a member of Beulah First Baptist Church, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, FAMU Alumni Association and a proud Diamond Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta, INC.

                Sister Little left her spirit of strength, faith, and love to her family and friends, and the pastor and members of Beulah First Baptist Church.

                Sister Little leaves behind to mourn her passing her loving son Bertram Little and his wife Dayla and her precious granddaughter Laila Little.  She is predeceased by her Sister Pauline McPherson, John Nelson McPherson, and Philip McPherson.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Altamease McPherson and nieces and nephews; Bernard McPherson (Constance), Tawanna McPherson Barrington (Robert) Philip McPherson (Demetrius), and a host of relatives and friends.

                She also leaves behind many sorors (sisters) in the Okaloosa Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She also leaves behind her special neighbor and that looked out for her daily, Ms. Patricia Brown. Thank You for the daily looking out for my needs and your presence. Her thoughtful former co-worker, friend, and confidante Mrs. Creola McClain. She also leaves behind Ms. Meredith McCleary, longtime friend, sister, and godmother to her only son. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Beulah First Baptist Church, 109 McGriff Street NE, Fort Walton Beach, FL.  Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Friday, July 30, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed at www.emeraldcoastfuneralhome.com
