Eriq Austin Sterling

Eriq Austin Sterling, age 39, of Mary Esther, FL, passed away October 13th, 2020 after his Leukemia journey with his loving wife at his side. Eriq was born on June 4th 1981 in Pensacola, Fl to mother Dawn Tuers. He married Shelley Sterling on October 10th, 2015 and spent nine beautiful years together. Eriq had the kindest, purest soul, always ready to help someone, whether he knew you or not. He had the most beautiful green eyes that you could get lost in and that could bring you peace in the craziest of times. He had the wittiest sense of humor, the best values, love for the Lord and all his family, especially his Mom. He loved fishing, bowling, playing pool and watching UFC. He even taught himself MMA before his diagnosis and was always good at everything he put his brilliant mind to. Eriq (EQ) wrote alot of poetry when he was younger and turned to song writing and singing at the end of 2018.  It became a huge passion for him and his wife and was such an emotional outlet that helped him through his journey. He loved being in the studio and has left such a legacy in his writing. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Mary Tuers, grandfather Elmer Tuers and cousin Tamara Bailey. 

He is survived by his wife: Shelley Sterling; their fur-baby: Shay; his Mother: Dawn Tuers his brothers: Brian Nichols (April), Jackie Houle; his aunts: Kim Tuers (Robert), Eileen Matthews (Alex), Sherry Magouirk (Tom); his uncle: Scott Tuers; his nieces: Rebecca Holovack, Dana Nichols; his Nephews: Dylan Nichols, Devin Nichols; his cousins: Shannon (Russell), Adam, Shaun (Nicole), Candice (Jordan), Taylor (Gena), Kyle (Chrystal), Dylan, Samantha, Parker; his mother in law: Debi Stanley; his father in law: Chuck Anderson (Dawn); his sister and brother in laws: Carissa (Phil), Cam (Mel), Kelsey (Andrew), Ellie. A big thank you to Taylor Magouirk, Anthony Flores and Jimmie Bolton for being such a great support team for him throughout his journey. It meant so much to him and was very grateful. He will be missed immensely by so many friends and family.
