Elsy C. Chipman

Elsy C. Chipman, “Bonita,”  “Beautiful,” or “Echita”, passed away on 3 October 2021 in the Eglin Air Force Base Hospital.   She had just celebrated her 49th birthday. Elsy was born on 16 August 1972, in Jutiapa Guatemala to Consuelo Sifontes Zepeda, her mother, and Hugo Elfego Tobar Sifontes, her father.  She completed High School in Guatemala and graduated with a specialty in Accounting. She was honored to be the flag bearer of school and received academic accolades.   She served a Mission in Honduras and when she completed 18 months of service she met Clive “Edwin” Chipman.  She married him on 5 September 1996 in Idaho Fall Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints Temple for time and all eternity. Elsy worked for the Nutrition Group as a Food Service Manager. She was so talented that she could look at the menu and prepare the food that the children would like and only have three meals extra.   She was always helping out the Hispanic children when couldn’t understand how to ask for the food they wanted. Elsy enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, traveling, cooking, walking on the beach, shopping with her daughter and talking to her mother.   Elsy was very loving, dedicated to her daughter and husband, and could keep her house organized and spotless even if there was a hurricane outside. She loved to drink diet coke, eating puffy Cheetos and shopping was her kryptonite. Guatemala was her favorite place to go and visit with family. Her favorite perfume was “Beautiful.” She love to say, “Judge me when you’re perfect “and “don’t tell me what to do.” Elsy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she was led a woman’s group and planned and ran Monday night activities

Elsy is survived by her Husband Edwin who lives in Fort Walton Beach Florida. She is also survived by her daughter Kiara Garcia who is married to Jared Garcia.  Elsy is also survived by her Mother Cony Tobar Zepeda, her sisters; Sylvia and Carol; and her brothers; Carlos, Hugo, Erick, Nery and Vinicio. The viewing will start at 10:00am and the Memorial Service on 30 October 2021 at 11:00am in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 339 Lake Drive NW, Fort Walton Beach Florida 32548. Elsy will be buried in the Beale Memorial Cemetery on 316 Beal Parkway NW, Fort Walton Beach Florida 32548.

Elsy C. Chipman, "Bonita", "Beautiful" o "Echita", falleció el 3 de Octubre de 2021 en el Hospital de la Base de la Fuerza Aérea de Eglin. Ella acababa de celebrar su cumpleaños número 49. Elsy nació el 16 de agosto de 1972, en Jutiapa Guatemala, hija de Consuelo Sifontes Zepeda, su madre, y Hugo Elfego Tobar Sifontes, su padre. Terminó la secundaria en Guatemala y se graduó con especialidad en Contabilidad. Ella tuvo el honor de ser la abanderada de la escuela y recibió elogios académicos. Sirvió una Misión en Honduras y cuando completó 18 meses de servicio conoció a Clive “Edwin” Chipman. Contrajeron matrimonio el 5 de septiembre de 1996 en el Templo de Idaho Falls de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días por tiempo y por toda la eternidad. Elsy trabajó para el Grupo de Nutrición como Gerente de Servicios de Alimentos. Tenía la habilidad y el conocimiento para preparar la comida que a los alumnos les gustaba y hacer todo de una manera eficiente que las cantidades de comida eran casi siempre exactas. Siempre estaba ayudando a los niños hispanos cuando no podía entender cómo pedir la comida que querían. A Elsy le gustaba jugar baloncesto, voleibol, viajar, cocinar, caminar por la playa, ir de compras con su hija y hablar con su madre todos los dias. Elsy era muy cariñosa, dedicada a su hija y a su esposo, y podía mantener su casa organizada e impecable incluso si había un huracán afuera. Le encantaba beber Coca-Cola light, comer Cheetos inflados e ir de compras era su kriptonita. Guatemala era su lugar favorito para visitar con la familia. Su perfume favorito era "Beautiful". A ella le encantaba decir: "Júzgame cuando seas perfecto" y "no me digas qué hacer". Elsy era miembro de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, donde orientaba un grupo de mujeres y planificó y dirigió las actividades del lunes por la noche.

A Elsy le sobrevive su esposo Edwin, que vive en Fort Walton Beach, Florida. También le sobrevive su hija Kiara García, quien está casada con Jared García. A Elsy también le sobreviven su Madre Cony Tobar, sus hermanas; Sylvia y Carol; y sus hermanos; Carlos, Hugo, Erick, Nery y Vinicio. Los servicios funerarios comenzarán a las 10:00 el 30 de octubre de 2021 en la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días en 339 Lake Drive NW, Fort Walton Beach Florida 32548. Su entierro se llevara a cabo en el cementerio Beale Memorial, 316 Beal Parkway NW, Fort Walton Beach Florida 32548.
