Elizabeth “Libby” Ila Hall Jordan, 69, passed away peacefully at her home in Destin, Florida on Friday, May 31, 2019 with her daughter, Tama, at her side. She was well known in Destin for her sunny disposition and winning smile. She was born at home in Mount Willing, Alabama on August 14, 1949 to her parents, Jim Edd and Mary Ellen Garrett Hall. She married her school age sweetheart, David Jordan on April 22, 1967 in Hayneville, Alabama at the Christian Church. She graduated from Fort Deposit High School. Libby worked diligently at building custom fishing rods for the Destin Fishin Hole for many years then later became the golf cart bartender at the Burnt Pine Golf Couse at the Sandestin Beach Resort. She was loved by the Sandestin members and the guests alike, working there for the past 20 years. Libby loved gardening, her grandchildren, and dancing. She was often seen on the dance floors in Destin living the good life.
She is survived by her children: Tama Jordan and Stephen Hollar, David Michael “Mike” and Tammy Holmes Jordan. Her grandchildren: Justin Jordan, Jansen Jordan, Kaitlynn Hollar, Arron Fulton, and Austin Hollar. Her siblings: Lucille Hall McCormick, George Hall, Faye Hall Ward, Carol Hall Simmons, and Luther Hall. She is proceeded in death by her parents: Jim Edd and Mary Ellen Hall and siblings: James Edd Hall, Billy Hall, Dorothy Hall Buck, and Mary Hall Collins.
Visitation for family and close friends will be at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Rd, Fort Walton Beach, FL from noon-2pm, followed by the Celebration of Life beginning at 2pm at the same location. Interment will follow at the Destin Memorial Cemetery in Destin, Florida. Reverend Brian Garrison will officiate the services.
