Dorothy Ann Babb

Dorothy Ann Babb, 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Shalimar, FL on Saturday the 17th of July.

Born Sept 21, 1940 in Chemsford Essex England to Hilda and Victor Grimwood.  Met and married Darrell L. Babb in Aug 1966 in Halstead Essex England, then came to the US in June of 1968.  She was a dedicated homemaker wherever they were stationed in the Air Force.  She was active in military wives' clubs and shared her great knowledge of military life with the younger members. 

She had two children, Dain and Samantha.  She and her husband have resided in the Fort Walton Beach area on/off since 1970 as the Air Force dictated, at both Eglin AFB and Hurlburt Field.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Darrell, their son Dain and granddaughter, Samantha, one sister, and numerous other relatives in the UK.

Dorothy enjoyed traveling the world, making great friends wherever they were stationed.  She always had her pet cats and other critters to enjoy wherever they went.  She was an avid dart player in her younger years and was nationally ranked.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 10 AM at Emerald Coast Funeral Home with Chaplain Al Stearns officiating.  Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed at www.emeraldcoastfuneralhome.com
