Dequain Kintrel Ruggs

Dequain Kintrel Ruggs, age 21, of Shalimar, FL, passed away on May 4, 2018.  He was born on October 19, 1996, to Tasheka Ruggs and Carlous Oliver in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Dequain will always be remembered for being intelligent, fun loving and very caring.  As a military child, he traveled across the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia.  He loved reading, watching and creating his own anime and comics.  His love of reading led him to pursue a degree in creative writing and photography.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Charles Oliver.  He is survived by his parents, his brother, Jamelius Oliver of Albany, GA; his uncles DeWayne Ruggs of Shalimar, FL and Sean Williams (Melicia) of Jackson, NJ; his Aunt Shannon Oliver of Albany, GA; his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Dortha Ruggs of Shalimar, FL; his paternal grandmother, Joanne Oliver of Albany, GA; numerous aunts and uncles and numerous cousins and friends.

The funeral service will be held on May 12, 2018 at 1pm at Beulah First Baptist Church.  The viewing will take place at Emerald Coast Funeral home on 11 May, 2018, from 5-7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to the United Negro College Fund, Book Aid International or Project Night Night.
