Denise Anita Washington, age 60, passed away on March 4, 2018. She was born in 1957 in Long Branch, New Jersey to Alfred and Frances Washington. Denise was a god-fearing woman who cherished being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. One of her greatest accomplishments was raising her children. She also spent 21 years proudly serving in the United States Army as a mechanic. She continued being a mechanic and a mechanic instructor after her time in the Army. Denise was a philanthropist who stayed involved in the community as a member of the N.A.A.C.P and she even ran for County Tax Commissioner. She was a businesswoman, owning a limousine company and working in catering. There wasn’t a single person that Denise Washington ever met whom she didn’t have a positive influence on their life. She was loved by so many!

Denise is survived by her children, Regina Washington and Elijah Gantt (April); grandchildren, Demone Kiara, Faison, Saison, Brooke, Elijah Jr, Leon Gantt (Kerry), Desmier, Edgar Gantt (Nikki), Nathan and Charli; great grandchildren, Jaden, Zion, Syasia, McKenzie, and Taraji.

A funeral service honoring Denise Washington’s life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow the service.
