Denise Mary Staubs

Denise Mary Staubs (Deni), age 83, of Destin, Florida, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2021 at Westwood Rehabilitation Center in Ft Walton Beach. She was born October 2, 1937 in Bayonne, New Jersey and adopted by parents, George and Dorothy Longchamps, of Littleton, New Hampshire, who both preceded her in death. She married Ernest Aaron Staubs (Red) on Thursday, November 27, 1958 in Littleton, New Hampshire and spent much of her life traveling the country and to Italy as an Air Force spouse.

Beloved mother, she loved crafts, especially making wonderful personalized cards. She was a wizard at card, board, and word games. She was also an avid reader who loved solving the newspaper crossword puzzle. She also loved crime dramas like Perry Mason and would leave them playing in the background during the day. She worked much of her life in retail, but also tried her hand as a real estate agent for a while. A skilled cook (especially for birthday and holiday dinners) and baker extraordinare, her cakes and pies were fantastic and her Christmas cookies unmatched.

Her husband Red passed away in 1996. She is survived by her children, Anne and her husband Ken Goff of Fl,; Philip and his wife Sue of Co,; Terry and his wife Cathy Staubs of Md, and Ernest and Dennis Staubs of Fl. along with seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her brother, Richard Longchamps, also preceded her in death. She especially loved her cat, Big Boy who is doing fine.

A Visitation will take place on Friday, 29 January, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home followed by a Funeral service at 12:00 p.m.  Burial to immediately follow at Destin Memorial Cemetery. 

Pallbearers: sons, Ernest and Dennis Staubs and grandchildren, Scott Puckett and Christopher Staubs.

A memorial and reception is planned for Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 with details to follow.
