Debbie Lynn Willard Hilvar, 61 gained her angel wings and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday in Fort Walton Beach at her home in the Kenwood area. She was surrounded by her husband, Richard Hilvar Jr. and daughter, Ashley Hilvar.
Debbie was diagnosed with lung cancer last year in June 2018. Debbie fought so hard for her family, especially her daughter and granddaughter Abigail who she adored so much.
Debbie Hilvar was born in Winston Salem, NC. in 1957 to Dorothy Lou and Dairrell Gray Willard Sr., then moved to Fort Walton Beach, FL 1965, where she graduated high school in 1976 at Fort Walton Beach High School. Debbie met her husband Richard Hilvar Jr. not long after graduating and getting married on November 22, 1976 they moved back to North Carolina for one year where they both realized they missed the white sandy beaches in Florida. They then spent the next 20 years working and managing Hardee’s restaurant’s. Debbie was known for her personality and management skills. In June 1987 Debbie and Richard Hilvar welcomed their baby girl Ashley Hilvar. Later on Debbie then took on a Decorating and Cleaning business where she loved remodeling and designing condos and homes. Debbie also enjoyed doing so much for others and giving back when she could. She is survived by her husband, Richard Hilvar Jr.; their daughter, Ashley Hilvar, granddaughter Abigail Lynn, son in law Timothy Freer. She also is survived by her 2 sisters and 3 brothers, Dairrell Willard Jr., Michael Willard, Clint Willard, Teresa Giffin, Colene Gage.
A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 6 PM at Hollywood Baptist Church with Pastor Willie Pace officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 5:30 PM until the service hour.
