Clarice Eshleman, age 90, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2024. She was born to Boyd and Nannie Higgins on September 30th, 1933 in North Carolina.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and husband (Stanley). She is survived by her children; Tanya (John) Garcia and their two daughters, Jackie and Christine, and Brett (Patty) Eshleman and their children, Mikayla (Justin) Novack and Aaron.
She will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid card and game player; her favorites were Bridge and Rummikub. She was a member of numerous bridge clubs throughout her life. She had a full drawer of candy in her room earned from her many Bingo wins at Bay Port. She was a licensed cosmetologist but started her professional career in government service as a secretary. Once Clarice and Stanley started having children, she became a stay-at-home mother. Finally, they delivered newspaper for the Northwest Florida Daily News for over 25 years.
Clarice will be buried on Friday, February 2nd at Barrancas National Cemetery at the Naval Air Station Pensacola. She will be reunited with Stanley there. A Celebration of Life will be held at Bay Port of Fort Walton Beach on Saturday, February 3rd from 3 to 5 pm. Clarice thoroughly enjoyed her last two years at Bay Port and wanted the staff and residents to be able to attend. Everyone is welcome to join us as we remember and commemorate a life well-lived. Light hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be available.
The family greatly appreciates the outstanding support and care giving by the Emerald Coast Hospice, Westwood Rehabilitation Center, and Bay Port of FWB.
