Claire Lavine, age 90, of Shalimar, FL, entered God's kingdom on December 30,2017.

Born to William Rittman and Lillian Barbour on April 26, 1927, in East Hampton, CT; she

was a graduate of East Hampton HS and the University of CT. Claire traveled the world as

an Air Force wife, mother, and teacher. Her family was her greatest blessing. She is

predeceased by her husband CMSgt.Thomas Lavine,USAF; son Col. Michael Lavine,US Army;  

brother William Rittman Jr; sister Virginia Sciarini; sister Elaine Kauffman; and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen and son-in-law William Childs; sister Jean Rittman;

daughter-in-law Judith Lavine; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Service and interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
