Christopher Stephen Williams

December 1, 1974 ~ May 25, 2022 (age 47)

Despite the fact that he thought he was invincible, Christopher “Chris” (aka. Shorty) Stephen Williams, 47, of Mary Esther, FL, died unexpectedly at home on May 25, 2022 a few days after coming home from his truck driving travels to celebrate his beloved daughter Amaya's 16th birthday.

Chris was born December 1, 1974 on Eglin AFB, FL to Patricia and Stephen Williams and had a great beginning where his mother took thousands of photos chronicling his baby and toddler years. His life was upended promptly three years later when his sister Jenni was born. As children, he thoroughly enjoyed traumatizing his sister in a variety of ways yet the two were the best of friends and often co-conspirators in new ways to get into trouble.
His dad was in the Air Force, yet he grew a disdain for authority that followed him throughout his life. He lived in Honolulu, Hawaii where he played soccer with his dad as his coach; Bossier City, Louisiana where he was big into skateboarding; and most of his life in Fort Walton Beach where he was obsessed with surfing as a teenager.
He attended Fort Walton Beach High School where he was proud to hold the record for the most consecutive days skipped.
He became a young father to his son, Christian, and later to his daughter, Amaya, both of whom he loved beyond measure.
He loved to cook (especially steak) and worked in restaurants throughout the region for many years before discovering his love for truck driving, beards and exploring the Pacific Northwest.

As an adult, he was a hell raiser that never backed down from a challenge, something that didn’t always keep him out of trouble. He was hilariously inappropriate most of the time and loved to crack people up. Chris was loved by many. Always well-meaning, Chris had a big heart. He was kind, supportive and trusting to all, sometimes to a fault.

He had strong opinions, convictions and faith.

He leaves behind his two children - son Christian (and wife Danielle) Williams of Charlotte, NC and daughter Amaya Williams of Mary Esther, FL; his loving parents Patricia “Pat” and Stephen “Steve” Williams of Mary Esther, FL; sister Jennifer “Jenni” Williams (and husband David) Wakefield and nephew Brody Wakefield of Richmond, VA as well as numerous aunts/uncles/cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 1 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with interment immediately following at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
