Charles F. Smith, age 86, of Shalimar, FL, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in a local hospital with his daughters by his side.  He was born in Park Falls, WI to George and Blanche Smith.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris M. Smith, daughter, Deborah L. Farley, and granddaughter, Brandy Metz.  He retired from the United States Air Force as a CMSgt with over 25 yrs.  Charles and Doris traveled extensively throughout the United States in their R.V.  He volunteered at the satellite pharmacy and retiree office.  He never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone.  A gentleman’s gentleman.  He is survived by his daughter, Sandy Kehl and her husband Tony of Shalimar, FL.; Grandson, Jeremy Mahr of Lakeland, FL.; sisters, Mary Duerkop and her husband Howard, Helen Stalehim, and brother John Smith and his wife Jean.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Ft. Walton Beach at 2:00pm with the Rev. Dave Barkalow. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church.  Interment will take place at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
