Bobbie Jones Scott

December 26, 1937 ~ March 12, 2020 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Tribute

Bobbie Jones Scott, age 82 of Fort Walton Beach, FL, took her last breath Thursday, March 12, 2020.  Loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, teacher, and farm girl has now gone home to join her husband of 57 years, Jimmy A. Scott, in heaven.  She lived 5 more years after Jimmy passed surrounded by the love of her two sons, daughter and 6 grandchildren.

Bobbie was born on December 26th and she often said it was the worst day of the year to be born.  All of he presents were always combined with Christmas and everyone is tired of eating and celebrating.  She had a rule that the Christmas decorations had to be taken down on December 26th so that it could be her birthday and not Christmas anymore.

Bobbie was known for her excellent cooking, tidy house and careful management of the family’s affairs.  She met her husband on a golf course and he invited her to a 4th of July picnic, the rest was history.  Throughout their marriage he continued to visit the gold course and became a PE teacher while she became a teacher of 4th graders at Mary Esther Elementary school.  The two of them taught their entire careers in Fort Walton Beach and raised their 3 kids, Alan, Steve, and Sharon here.  Bobbie was never afraid of hard work and wanted a better life for her kids than the poor farm girl life that she was raised in.  If you messed with one of her kids, she was a force to be reckoned with.  She ran her classroom with two rules:  you will not lie, and you will not steal.  Similarly, she told her children that they were to get an education and not to bring shame upon the family.

As the matriarch of a loving family she will be dearly missed.  We are having a private family celebration of life at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on March 15, 2020.  Thank you to Dr. Charles Arbogast, Dr. Eddie Negron, Nurse Benrina Lincoln, the fabulous workers at DaVita Dialysis Dave, Rusty, and Nicole, Dr. John Dali, Dr. Francia Squatrito, Dr. Rodney Powell, Dr. Carla Hinds, David Hanle, DMD, Dr. Karen Stein, Maria DeMartinez, Melissa Walters, Emerald Coast Hospice, and Brother Williams.
