Betty Lewis Crosby, age 87 of Fort Walton Beach, Fl. was called home to the Lord on September 4, 2021. She passed away peacefully with her son by her side at the Manor at Bluewater Bay.
Betty was born on January 13, 1934, in Montgomery Al to parents Raymer and Jimmie Lewis. During her childhood she would make frequent trips with her grandparents to their cabin on Dons Bayou in Fort Walton Beach Fl. where she would talk about the simple things in life as rowing across the bayou. She would refer to the undeveloped beaches as her “little slice of heaven”.
After graduating from Andalusia High School she went on to marry her husband Minor C. Crosby where they travelled together during his military career including stops in England and Japan before making their home in Fort Walton Beach Fl. in 1972.
After being a stay at home mother and housewife, Betty received her certification in Hotel Management where she worked various locations in the area.
Betty was known by many as being a loving wife, mother and her most cherished title, “Gaga”. She loved her family more than life and showed that affection towards them at every chance. All those that knew her will remember her contagious smile and giggles. She would always find the best in everyone no matter the circumstance, always eager to help anyone in need. When she wasn’t with her family she enjoyed playing bingo, cards and trips to Biloxi.
She is survived by her son, Terry L. Crosby and wife Donna of Mossy Head FL. Grandchildren Aaron L. Crosby and wife Vivian, Colby L. Crosby , Kaytlyn M. Crosby and one great grandson Minor A. Crosby all of Fort Walton Beach.
She was preceded by her father Raymer Lewis, mother Jimmie Lewis and husband of 43 years Minor C. Crosby.
We would like to extend our deepest love and gratitude to the caretakers and staff at the Manor at Bluewater Bay where Betty resided for the last few years. Their kind, loving, and compassionate care were more than words can say.
Services will be held on Friday September 10, 2021, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach Florida. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm and services at 2:00.
