In Cave Spring, Georgia she went to the Georgia School for the Deaf (GSD) and in Florida she went to the Florida School for the Deaf (FSD) In St. Augustine where she graduated in 1979.

When watching the Braves she would tell you how she had watched Chipper Jones, the Braves, third baseman play little league baseball in DeLeon Springs, Florida. She was so proud of him.
