Barbara J. (Newman) McGill

Barbara Jane McGill, age 90, departed this earth for her heavenly home Sunday, July 31st, 2022.

Barbara was born and raised in South Bend Indiana, the youngest of 5 siblings, who she adored. She met the love of her life, Charles, while working as a teenager in a restaurant he frequented. After his time in the army the two were married on May 18, 1951. Their life took them from Indiana to Florida where they raised their three boys.

Barbara devoted her life to Christ and her family. She served in the children’s ministries at church as she adored children. She was an avid crafter and made blankets and other yarn based crafts for her family and friends. She loved nothing more than to host family gatherings at her home. Barbara excelled at being a Grandmother and doted on her grandchildren endlessly.

When Barbara left for heaven on Sunday, she was ready to go. She’d told multiple family members that it was time to be with her Savior and her husband, and often prayed for it. We should all hope to leave this earth feeling that our role here is complete, as she did. What a blessing it is for her family to know her prayers have been answered.

A visitation will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on Friday, August 5, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M.
