Annie Mae Slade, 103, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away at Westwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on Thursday evening July 1, 2021. She was a born again Christian and enjoyed witnessing to people in order to lead them to Christ and most of all spending time with family whenever possible.
Annie Mae was born on March 1, 1918 to John James and Vara Lou Sandefur in Roberta, Georgia. She attended Roberta High School and then worked in Miami, Florida and Fort Valley, Georgia at the Blue Plate Diner where she met and married Frank Edward Slade on September 21, 1940. She then worked as the bookkeeper for the family business, Slade Radio & Electric Service in Marshallville, Georgia.
Annie Mae is survived by her son, Frank Jr., her brother David Lee Sandefur of Macon, Ga., her sister Vivian Delna Phillips (Steve) of Greenacres, Fl., her sister-in-law Dorothy Sandefur of Macon, Ga., two grandsons Jeff (Kristen) of Holmen, WI. and Kris of Manchester, TN., and five great-granddaughters. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her for her kind nature and selflessness.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on July 9, 2021, at the Marshallville City Cemetery with Reverend Randy Davis officiating. Interment will take place by Rooks Funeral Home of Fort Valley, Georgia, following the service.
