Allen L. Peterson II

March 10, 1958 ~ August 5, 2020 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Tribute

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, Allen Peterson, loving husband, grandfather, friend, entrepreneur, and father of three children, passed away at the age of 62.

Allen will be dearly missed by his mother, Shirley Peterson, wife of 43 years, Victoria Peterson, his three children, Allen Peterson, Nathan Peterson and Lindsay Strezewski, his six grandchildren, and two sisters, Carol Martin and Janet Egan.  Allen will also be sadly missed by the many, many people whose lives he touched, impacted and inspired throughout his life as a friend, mentor, and business associate.

Allen was born on March 10, 1958 in Kirksville, MO to Allen and Shirley Peterson.  Allen enlisted in the Air Force after high school and served as a Medical Laboratory Specialist from 1976 – 1980.  While in the Air Force Allen met his wife Victoria Gay Harding and they were married July 20, 1977.  After the Air Force, Allen completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology.  Allen had a thirst for learning went on to obtain a Master of Management Information Systems degree. Together Allen and Victoria raised their three children Allen, Nathan, and Lindsay.

Allen’s passion was being an entrepreneur.  He was a hardworking, entrepreneurial businessman who believed strongly in being an industry leader and setting an example for others.  Allen’s business ventures were many and diverse from his multiple Peterson Spirits and Fine Wine locations to real estate investments and properties.  Allen always wanted to create something bigger than he was, and that was AASONN, which was a global technology consultancy organization that grew to over 200 employees.  Allen treated everyone who worked for him as if they were his own family.

In addition to his business interests, Allen loved being on his boat out on the Gulf of Mexico.  Whether he was reeling in a big fish, taking a cruise with Victoria or taking his grandchildren out for a boat ride, it truly was his happy place.

While Allen enjoyed great success in all aspects of his life, he never forgot his roots and maintained a level of kindness and integrity that was endeared by those around him.  Allen would never ask anything of anyone that he would not ask of himself, which gave Allen the unique ability to unite people around a vision and to see it through to completion.  By leading by example, he won the respect and admiration of all who worked with him.

He will be greatly missed by all, but his memory will live on through his loved ones and in all who knew him.

Funeral Service will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home (161 Racetrack Road NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547).  The viewing will be held Tuesday August 11, 2020 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and the actual service will be Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
