Allen Edward Handzo, age 78, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, peacefully went Home to be with the Lord, on December 5, 2022.
Allen was born in Paterson, NJ on October 21, 1944, to parents Edward and Julia Handzo.
Allen graduated from Garfield High School in 1962, where he was involved in band and marched and toured with the Garfield Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps. Allen attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. In 1970, Allen married the love of his life, Lois Dudiak, and they spent 52 wonderful years together. After college graduation, he worked in private industry as an Engineer, and then he worked for the Department of Defense at Eglin Air Force Base, where he retired after 23 years of service. He enjoyed his weekly Men’s Bible Study, and volunteering with the Mended Hearts Organization at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, Beachside Community Church, and Florida Baptist Disaster Relief. He also continued to be involved with the Garfield Cadets Drum and Bugle Corp in a variety of ways. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family at home and abroad. Allen was a fine, Christian man who loved his Lord and is now in the presence of God.
Allen is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Lois (nee Dudiak); daughter, Leslie (Lance) Hardy; daughter, Amy (Nick) Tucker; grandchildren, Lydia Hardy, Cale Tucker, and Hadlee Tucker; and sister, Joyce Chovan.
A funeral service will be conducted at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on December 10, 2022, at 11:30 am, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will be immediately following at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
