She was educated in the Putnam County School District in Palatka, Fla She furthered her education in Tallahassee. Florida at the Florida A&M University where she earned a degree In nursing After completing her education she pained her husband in Ft Walton Beach where she became the first African American registered nurse at the Old Ft Walton Beach Hospital

In 1960 'Bert' dedicated her life to Jehovah God and was a zealous witness for 57 years most of those years were spent as a full time Pioneer. She helped many to learn and accept the truth of God's Word. She was generous with her time and resources to help those in need She loved God. his word the Bible and read it daily She now awaits the promise of Job 14 15 ''He will call and she will answer"
