Adwin Clifford "Ed" Cole, Jr

Retired MSgt. Adwin “Ed” Cole Jr., age 86, of Shalimar, passed away on October 17, 2017. Adwin was born on July 3rd, 1931 to parents Adwin C Cole and Kathleen H Cole in Flint, Michigan. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was married 64 years to the love of his life, Patricia M. Cole who passed away in January of 2017. He is predeceased by his parents, one brother Jack and 4 sisters, Kathleen, Donna, Betty and Judy.                                                                                                                                                                                                He is survived by his son Cliff (Cindy); 3 grandchildren Shelby (Zach), Addison and Patrick; one great grandchild Eason; and his loving dog Lilly. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force and the US Postal Service where he served as Union President. He was an active member in the Shriners, a 32nd degree Mason, Elks Club, Rotary and the VFW. He loved life, loved to travel, loved working in the yard and treasured his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. A special thanks to Bill May for being a great neighbor and helping watch over him in his last months.

The family held a private service in his name and he was laid to rest alongside his lifelong partner, Pat.  A full military service was held at Barrancas National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements were under the care of Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Rd NW, Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547.
