Adrian L. Moe

November 10, 2020

Tribute

Adrian Luverne Moe, age 89, died at home in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida on November 10, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on May 5, 1931 in Kensington, Minnesota to Gilbert and Mabel Moe and was the 5th of 8 children.  He married Joan Albertson on December 27, 1952 and they were married almost 68 years. Adrian joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1979 after over 27 years of service.  While in the military, Adrian, Joan and their family lived in Albuquerque, NM; Newfoundland, Canada; Dover, Delaware; and finally retiring in Ft. Walton Beach.  Adrian served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War and his family is extremely proud of his military service and his loyalty and commitment to his country.

There were very few things that Adrian was unable to build or repair.  After he retired from the USAF in 1979, he went to Okaloosa Walton Junior College and obtained a degree in air conditioning, refrigeration and heating technology. Everybody who knew Adrian knew that they could come to him for help and he was always willing to help anyone – friends or strangers.  Adrian’s passions (aside from his family) were hunting and fishing.  He hunted moose in Canada and during his first hunting trip in Idaho came home with a deer and a 6 point elk.  That elk still holds a place of honor on the wall of his family room.  He passed along his love of hunting to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved fishing any place he could drop a line from the Gulf of Mexico to the Northern Territories in Canada.  He especially enjoyed spending summers fishing the lakes in Minnesota with his family and siblings.

Adrian was truly the best husband, best father, best grandfather and best great-grandfather.  He instilled his ethics and beliefs in his children who have strived to pass them along to their children and grandchildren.  A better role model would be difficult to find and his family realizes how fortunate they were to have all the years they did with him.  As much as we miss him, we know he is now at peace and will be watching over us and guiding us to that big bull elk.

Adrian is survived by his wife, Joan, of Ft. Walton Beach. He is also survived by their son, Blaine Moe, of Ft. Walton Beach, their daughter, Sherrie Wyatt, of Boise, Idaho, their daughter Carla Curtis of Ft. Walton Beach, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 siblings and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Glen Moe, and 4 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Rd. NW, Ft. Walton Beach, on Friday, November 13th at 2pm.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1pm. A private  military honors service will take place immediately after the funeral at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
