Thomas M Dorsey

Tom was born on August 13, 1948 in Atlanta, Ga.; the son of Eula and Glen Bennett. He was raised in Philadelphia, Pa. where he graduated from West Philadelphia High School and joined the United States Air Force.

On December 25, 1970, Tom married Patricia Ann Burnette, in Martinsville, Va. They went on to have four daughters; Kajuana, Kali, Kaeina and Kenya.

Tom was a soul on fire every day of his life. Whether he was celebrating his children or showering his wife with love; cheering for his Eagles or sideline coaching his grandchildren at their sporting events; performing his duties in the Air Force or at Lockheed Martin or golfing with his dearest friends...the list is never ending. Tom did life in the best way. He never met a stranger and you'd be hard pressed to find an enemy.

The world has lost a bit of magic but has gained the greatest of guardian angels. We will look to the sky and do our best to do as Tom did, live each day with passion and purpose.

He was preceded in death by his father Glen Bennet. He is survived by his mother; Eula Bennett, one sister; Vivian Meritt; wife Patricia Ann Dorsey; four daughters, Kajuana Dorsey, Kali Dorsey, Kaeina Welsh (Michael), and Kenya Fogg; six grandchildren, Kainan Dorsey, Kohlbe Dorsey, Kyleigh Welsh, Kirsten Welsh, Karmyon Fogg, Karsyn Dorsey; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 5:00 PM at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, 161 Racetrack Road NW, Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32547 followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Medical Center. Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed online at www.emeraldcoastfuneralhome.com
