Joanne H. Lindsey

Joanne Lindsey, age 72 of Fort Walton Beach Florida, was welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ, Sunday, September 15, 2019.   

Joanne was born April 25, 1947 to the late Edward R Hennessy and Virginia Brown in Chicago, Illinois.  She leaves to cherish her loving memory her brother Alcover Brown (Joanne) of Dyer, Indiana; two nieces, Lodie Hennessy of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Alina Brown and one nephew, Orion Brown, both of Dyer, Indiana, grandnieces, a host of loving relatives and friends.  Joanne was welcomed into heaven by both of her loving parents and a host of family members and close friends.

Joanne attended St. Matthew Elementary, Lucy Flowers High School, and Loop Junior College of Chicago, Illinois where she received her degree in Special Education and Behavioral Problems of Youth.

Joanne worked for Tri County Community Council for several years before relocating to Fort Walton Beach, Florida.  Once relocated Joanne began her lengthy career at the Fort Walton Beach Developmental Center and Pyramid, Inc.

Joanne devoted her life to her career and her clients.  Her caring spirit and generosity touched everyone she ever came in contact with.  She volunteered for several nonprofit organizations around town, and often feed, sheltered, and clothed the homeless.  If you were ever in need, she was always just one phone call away.

Joanne was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida.

Joanne enjoyed several hobbies which include bowling, reading, going to the movies, and traveling extensively.

Joanne will be missed by many, but we find peace in knowing that she is not battling here on earth but rejoicing in heaven with a renewed body and spirit.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 1 pm at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will have fellowship with friends immediately following the celebration service.
