Joan E. Thomas, age 75, of Shalimar, FL, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017.  She was born April 22, 1942 in New Jersey to the late Charles Abrams and Ruth Weigand Abrams.

Joan loved to read Stephen King novels and fantasy novels.  She had worked and retired from the DMV in Cumberland County, NJ.  She loved the beloved state of Maine and all its beauty.

Besides her parents, Joan was preceded in death by a daughter, Deanna Bearfield.

Survivors include her children, Deborah “Debi” Thomas, Joan “Joni” (Jose) Vega and John (Karen) Thomas; her son-in-law, Dale Bearfield; 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; her sister, Margie Montanez; and brother, Ronnie Abrams.
