Mae “Jean” Merrill, age 81 passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 in Defuniak Springs, FL. Jean was born In Mississippi.  She worked 30 years for the City of Fort Walton Beach in the Water Department. Jean will be remembered by all as a “Woman of Noble Character.” Her life exemplified the love of Jesus.  Jean was loved by many simply because of her kind hearted spirit.  She leaves behind a legacy of faith along with her husband Charles Merrill; four children Debbie Wyman (Bruce), Sharon Grizzle (Harry), Brenda Smith (Sammy), and Paul Merrill (Connie); nine grandchildren Shelley Bengston, Cory Grizzle, Adam Grizzle, Emily Merrill, Hunter Merrill, Whitney Merrill, Danielle Dickinson, Lacey Adams, and Bailey Worrell; three great grandchildren Hagen Wright, Rylee Wright, and Jadyn Dickinson.  Please celebrate with us the life of our beloved and precious wife, mother, and grandmother, Jean Merrill, 1:00 pm Friday May 12, 2017 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home.  A gathering of friends and family will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
