Janice Van Tassel Frazier, 92, a 54-year resident of Ft. Walton Beach, passed away on Dec. 26, 2017.  She was born to Avery Tracey and Amelia Smith Van Tassel on June 22, 1925 in Ashtabula, Ohio.  Janice was a loving military wife, mother, and grandmother.

Janice graduated from Stuart High School, West Palm Beach Junior College, and attended FSU (Florida State College for Women).  She married her high school sweetheart, Henry Frazier, February 11, 1946  and they made their Air Force home in many places including Hawaii and Iceland.  In 1963 they retired in Ft. Walton Beach and she began a ten-year career in Real Estate sales, having earned a Broker’s license. An avid reader and lover of the Arts, Janice’s poetry was published in two anthologies.   

Predeceased by her husband Henry Frazier, USAF, Lt. Col. (RET), and brother Dale Van Tassel of Ohio, Janice is survived by her children Patricia Belote and Hal Frazier; two grandchildren, Patrick Bailey and Jenna Frazier; sister, Joyce Page, sister-in-law, Jean Van Tassel, and niece, Tracey Truman.

Janice’s ashes will be placed alongside her husband’s at Barrancas National Cemetery in the spring. A celebration of life will be held at that time.
