Irma Mary Floyd, 95, passed away peacefully at home in Fort Walton Beach, FL on March 18, 2017. Irma was born on March 31, 1921 in Ft Kent, Maine to Joseph and Helen Caron, the third of nine children. After her husband’s retirement from the Air Force in 1972, they moved to Ft Walton Beach, where Irma worked in Inpatient Records at Eglin AFB Hospital until her retirement in 1993. Irma enjoyed playing Bridge and reveled in beating her children and grandchildren in heated games of Cribbage and Scrabble. She also enjoyed traveling, camping and reading. Irma was a long-time parishioner at St Mary’s Catholic Church. Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Floyd, daughter Donna Hackney, first husband Robert Babin, parents and seven siblings. Irma is survived by her loving children, Brian (Cathy) Babin of Newport, NC, Robert (Katy) Babin of Minneapolis, MN, Kim (Phil) Hutson of Land O Lakes, FL; grandchildren David (Rae) Hackney, Tami (Mark) Taylor, Sean (Melynda) Tetpon, Deaubre Babin, Ryan, Jesse, Dylan and Kelly Hutson; great-grandchildren, Lacey Babin, Justin (Irene) Cook, Chase, Noah, Chloe and Wyatt Tetpon, Kyle and Marissa Hackney; and three great-great grandsons. She is also survived by her sister Bern (Stanley) Kozakewicz of Stratford, CT and many nieces and nephews. A Gathering will be held 6:00 -7:30 pm Monday, March 20, 2017 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Fort Walton Beach, Florida. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Ft Walton Beach, on Tuesday, March 21 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
