Gerald L Kelly, JRAugust 30, 1932 ~ November 5, 2017 (age 85)
Gerald L. Kelly Jr., passed away on November 5th. Gerald was born in Cassville, West Virginia in 1932 to Gerald and Wanda Kelly. He graduated in 1950 from Morgantown High and went to the University of West Virginia before enlisting in the Air Force. After a tour of duty in Korea and three more years he left the Air Force and started working in Panama City for Associates Investment Company. In 1964 he opened the Associates office in Fort Walton Beach and was the Branch Manager until he became a partner at Eglin Motors Volkswagon. After several years, he moved from this position and opened Eglin Auto Sales along with his partner Sherman Jenkins. Before retiring, he and his partner opened Mr. Transmission. Since retiring he has been active in several community services. He has been a member of Shalimar United Methodist Church since 1970 and a Master Mason for 56 years. He also was a member of Shalimar Golf Course since 1970 and loved to play golf with his many friends. His friends will remember him for his love of hunting, fly fishing, and growing vegetables in his back yard. He will also be remembered for the deep caring love for his family, home, and the Lord. He was preceded in death by his brother Don. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pat; and his wonderful daughter Tami; twin brothers Bob (Betty) and Ron (Jane) Kelly , both of Morgantown, West Virginia; and sister-in-law and Laura Arthur; Several nieces and nephews; as well as his grand dog, Sugg . Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm Friday November 10, 2017, with visitation one hour prior the service time at Shalimar United Methodist Church.
