Eiko Brezniak

Eiko Brezniak, age 85, of Shalimar, passed away on Sunday March 17, 2024. Eiko was born on July 10, 1938 to Susumu Kono and Toyo (Rikieshi) Kono in Atami-shi, Shizuoka-ken Japan.

Eiko, worked as a cashier early in her career at Yokota AB, Japan. She also was employed as a cook at The Nikko Inn in Fort Walton Beach. Late in career, Eiko was employed at Wal-Mart as a greeter and cake decorator for 20 years before retiring. Eiko was an active supporter of many programs and organiztions that her children were a part of. Those were The Boy Scouts, Meigs and Choctaw Bands and the Catholic Church. She was an active volunteer whenever she could for her family members. After retiring, Eiko dedicated her time pursuing her passion of gardening.

Eiko is predeceased by her father Susumu and mother Toyo, her brothers Kazuo and Tsugio and her granddaughter Joelle.

Eiko is survived by daughter Anne Guisti and husband Michael, son Henry Brezniak, son Peter Brezniak and wife Tamara, daughter Susan Johnson and husband David. Grandchildren David Guisti, Kevin Johnson, Emily Cravens, Xander Johnson, Andrew and Justin Anderson. Great grandchildren Sydney Johnson, Marlee and Aaron Cravens, Jupiter Johnson, Bryce, Cameron, Gwendolyn, Braden and Tyler Anderson.

A Viewing will be held on March 26, 2024 between 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Emerald Coast Funeral Home at 161 NW Racetrack Road, Fort Walton Beach,FL.

 A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Holy Name of Jesus in Niceville, FL. The family will receive visitors 1 hour before the service.

Interment will take place at Beal Memorial Cemetery, 316 NW Beal Parkway, Fort Walton Beach, FL

Flowers will be received by the family or donations may be made in Eiko’s name to The American Diabetes Association or The American Stroke Association.
