Dorothy J. Story, age 84 passed away after a short illness on January 20, 2018.    Dorothy was born in Covington, OK in 1933.  After graduating from high school she met the love of her life, Conrad.  They married in 1960 and shared many travels together while Conrad served in the Air Force.  They made Shalimar, FL their final home in 1974.  Together they created a family in which Dorothy was the heart of the home.  Her passion in life was being a loving wife , mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her family.  She showed her love by preparing wonderful family meals, keeping a beautiful home for family to share in special times, and making handmade gifts for her family.  Dorothy had a great faith and was a regular attendee of First United Methodist Church of Shalimar.  Her legacy is a reflection of the love she had for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  We are all so blessed to have received her love and will always be eternally grateful for the gift of her life.  Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Conrad and her parents Arthur and Lucille. She is survived by her son Bruce, son Steve and wife Kathleen, daughter  Kimberly and husband Don; grandchildren Andrea, Allison, Matthew, Sarah, Ashley, Tyler; great grandchildren Lila and Everett; sisters Barbara (John) and Wilma( Richard); and many other family members and friends who were dear to her.  Visitation will be held 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday January 25, 2018 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home, Fort Walton Beach, FL.  A private burial will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
