I had the honor of serving with then Major Moore on a 6 month MTT in the Dominican Republic in 1972. He led us well and was admired for his diligence and cooperation with his Dominican counterparts. RIP until we meet again!

I had the honor of meeting Charles several years back while attending Memorial and Veterans Day ceremonies at Beal Memorial Cemetery. I have a tremendous admiration for all that he was and all that he stood for. All of the great leaders I’ve known call for your full attention when you engage them in conversation, as did Charles. As conversations ensued, you stood toe to toe and eye to eye. I shall not forget our times together.

I’ve taken several photographs of Charles in these past few years and would like to share them with all who knew and loved him. We have lost a great man who will be sorely missed. God speed Charles Moore to a better place, a place where you can lay down your arms and no longer fight for our freedom.

My sincere condolences to Herta, family and friends.

Dear Troy,
I am so sorry to hear about the death of your father. Ironically, I was posting a memorial to my mom, who died in New Orleans five years ago today, when I saw your post. I know that you and Hon Kei will find comfort in knowing that your dad is in His loving arms and that your are surrounded by loving friends and family. The Lord will provide you with whatever you need at this time and He will bless you and keep you in His loving arms.

My heart is sad! It seems like yesterday we were running up and down Franklin Street laughing and playing without a care in this world. You were blessed to go far and accomplish many things. Rest In peace my friend, "the best is yet to be."

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
