Bruce Perry, age 72, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away on March 26, 2024. He was born in Baltimore,

Maryland to parents, Edgar Perry, Jr. and Kathleen Perry. He resided in Baltimore, Maryland, and York, PA, before moving to Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Liberty Bible College in Pensacola, with a major in Theology and a minor in Christian Counseling. He also completed a Master’s degree in Counseling, from Regent University, in Virginia Beach, VA, specializing in School Guidance Counseling. His career history involved working in public schools as a Guidance Counselor and in Christian schools as a Bible Teacher. He also had his Commercial Driver’s license and enjoyed traveling and working as a truck driver.

Bruce served in the military with the Air National Guard for six years during the Vietnam War. He had an adventurous spirit and learned to fly Cessna airplanes at just sixteen years old. He enjoyed spending time at the York Airport and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He also enjoyed dirt bike riding and maneuvering the trails at off-road riding parks. Bruce’s favorite sport was table tennis. He was a member of the Emerald Coast Table Tennis Club at the Destin Community Center.

Bruce was a pastor, Bible teacher, and Evangelist. He was an Assistant Minister at Abundant Life Church (now Destiny Worship Center). He walked the streets and neighborhoods of York, PA, and Fort Walton Beach, sharing his love of God’s word. He ministered at Indian reservations and local jails. He spent several years leading small groups/Bible studies in Loganville, Georgia, and Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

Bruce is predeceased by his parents, brother, Edgar “Buddy” Perry III (a local charter boat captain in Destin) and sister, Roxanne McCormack. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cheryl Perry, son, Daniel Perry, daughter Rachel (David) Perry Velez, and sisters, Susan (Mark) Woodbury and Holly Geraci. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation is Friday, April 5, 2024, from 5:00-6:00 pm. Memorial service with reception to follow will start at 6:00 pm all at Emerald Coast Funeral Home.
