Betty J. (Appel) Smith of Sandestin, FL passed away on May 4, 2017.  Betty was born in Milwaukee, WI on November 16, 1933 to Hilda and Francis Appel.  She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Mel; daughter, Denise (Kevin) Greene; son, Jeff (Kathy) Smith; and grandchildren, Eliot and Lily Greene.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 9 at 2 PM at Santa Rosa Beach Community Church.
